Bixi Life Sciences LLC is limited liability company that will create and have ownership in multiple startup life sciences companies that result from talented innovators/academics who come to the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute (Blumberg Institute) and the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center(PA Biotech Center) to conduct proofs of concepts and spin out new companies with the expectation of moving promising discoveries to the next phase of drug development.
These innovators will come from the nation’s major research institutions.
Scientist Advisors and the companies sponsored by Bixi will identify technologies at universities and research organizations around the country based on quality, as well as being suitable for innovation at the PA Biotech Center, and having the extraordinary advantage of thriving in the unique eco-system of the Blumberg Institute and the PA Biotech Center, which has had a remarkable track record of translational research success.
Startup companies have thrived at the Biotech Center, achieving some of the most impressive business exit strategies in the United States, in terms of size of drug and medical device approvals, and time/return on investment.
Bixi will provide the business planning and capital required for portfolio companies to advance the technologies toward the clinic or commercialization.
